Hogan & Company was founded over 40 years ago and is still regarded as one of the most experienced, knowledgeable and successful firms in the region.
Our story is one of persistence, family and migration!
Garry Hogan moved out west with a few dollars in his pocket, a best friend and armed with a fresh York University Degree. Dead set on finding the right fit to meet his legal skillset, it did not take long before Garry joined ICBC as a loss adjuster and bodily injury investigator. Honing his craft with an extensive caseload and legal chops shaping up nicely, Garry turned to a more complicated role with Fisher Spence, a large Independent adjusting firm at the time. Within a few years, Garry was a partner at the firm and its top biller. Never the faint of heart and despite a 1-year-old and a new baby, "One of which writing this piece," Mom & Dad thought lets risk it all and start Hogan & Company adjusters and loss consultants. Two new babies, one much better behaved than the other, new home and many bills to pay. They had no choice but to succeed.
Succeed they did! Garry and Marilyn were pleasantly surprised to find nearly all their customers and clients followed the team to their new venture. Within 3 years Hogan & Company was the top private adjusting firm in the region. The company trained, developed and influenced new partners, business awards, experiencing substantial growth. Hogan & Company then and now provides expert consulting services with handling in All Commercial Lines and classes, specializing in Liability, Casualty and Professional Exposures. Garry is a master of the board & courtroom negotiation; I have seen it many times. He has of course used these skills on us boys many times in a dispute. One day Garry!
At this point Garry holds major designations in the industry and has handled some of the country's most complicated losses. This work has earned the trust of our industries most reputable insurance companies.
Fast forward to the new Millennium. Chris, a bright young Engineer & Sean, just about to get married and move the family to the Okanagan, it was time for a change. The entire family left it all behind and migrated to the beautiful Okanagan. A dream of ours since water skiing the Gellatly Bay and terrorizing the old Ferry docks as kids.
Garry found a Niche in the Okanagan, continuing to handle the more complicated losses and travelling the province of British Columbia on behalf of clients.
During the last 10 years, Garry has again become one of the region's most experienced Loss Adjuster, Consultant, Risk Managers. Do not let his age fool you... this is a sharp cookie! I am clearly biased though!
